Budding Futures

A very warm welcome to my website – I’m Helen Bissett.

I set up Budding Futures in 2007 because I realised that being successful in business takes more than developing business skills. Many successful entrepreneurs started off with no business knowledge or skills at all. What they do have is a vision, a strong desire to make it happen and the self motivation to keep going no matter the obstacles they encountered.  Read about some such success stories here.

Even in larger companies – success is dependent upon employee’s having a clarity of vision and purpose which is meaningful to them. Yet it appears that the approach to supporting fledgling companies, and in house staff development programmes still focuses heavily on the development of functional management skills.
These of course are important, and can make a real difference – however I believe that continued business or career success is a state of mind, whether you work for someone else or you have your run your own business.   It is essential that you possess self belief, passion and a clear vision. Without these, I think that it is almost impossible to keep yourself sufficiently motivated.
